Shelved

I've been procrastinating big time about getting this shelf set up in my living room to house (a tiny percent of) my books. My books have just been hanging out in a pile in the corner of my living room.

I was really excited when I happened upon a post linking over to Project Simplify at Simple Mom. This week is drawers & shelves, PERFECT timing! I'm good at putting off things that I don't love, and I do not love this shelf. However, after spending a solid 45 minutes putting it together and taking it apart, together, apart...repeat, I think I could love it. The detail is pretty cute, but what it needs is a coat of paint. 

It also needs some definite work with the styling, it does not look cohesive, and that bothers me. Everything around here is evolving, slowly, as I find the right pieces for each space. For now, my pile of books is shrinking, and some of my pretties have a new temporary home.
